South Tyrol’s new thermal spa paradise

Fancy a Merano apple cure? Or a grape bath in the tub? Even better: spoil yourself with a sand and wool bed plus massage with aromatic oils based on herbs from the valleys of South Tyrol. That and much else besides will soon be available in Merano – following the opening in autumn of the new Merano Thermal Baths on a total area of 7.5 hectares. Unadulterated natural produce from South Tyrol will form the central element in the spoil-yourself offering. And whey and honey will flow! There will be grape seed oil baths and apple-based body peeling. The famous Merano grape cure will undergo a renaissance, and a modern apple cure is being added. Plus specialties for the men including sand baths and mountain salt massages. Curative water from nearby Monte San Vigilio will be used for inhalations and fango packs to bring relief to rheumatic complaints and disorders of the respiratory tract. Primeval sulfur water from the depths of the Merano mountains will be a further key to wellbeing. And there will be a spa physician in attendance for health checks and counseling.
